Rock: Precursor to gun?

As you know rocks are not guns. However scientific evidence does show that rocks can be used as guns, as this evidence shows.

    Used to have a sling from string I made. Man I could toss nice sized rocks FAST as all hell. Brutal if it hit you anywhere.
