90's was soooo cool |
24 year party people |
"The rumours are true," the statement said. "Happy Mondays, the seminal Manchester band who changed musical culture forever has reformed and will be available for select live gigs across 2012."
Promoting rave culture and getting totally smashed off your face on a regular basis Happy Mondays were part of the massive scene coming out of the U.K in the 90's. It seems after the success of the Stone Roses reunion its now the turn of this Manchester band to take a turn and milk the fans.
Just makes you think, at the moment every things getting reimagined, reformed, remastered and prequel'd to death. I mean dubstep aint exactly a new sound its just muffed up d and b, Emo's the new mod(brit scene kid in the 60's) Even Conan got done i mean Conan srsly?? It wasnt a terrible film don't get me wrong but how do you improve on Arnold? It'd be like re do'ing Home Alone, Cheech and Chong, Back to the Future(Zac Teflon does actually want to do this, so do expect this) or The Goonies , I swear these ceo's signing this stuff off should be tied down and forced to listen/watch it then maybe they'd stop.
And now its the Sex and the City prequel |
Stone Roses, bolt out the blue there :)
ReplyDelete& as for the other bit,I'm totes with you & I won't watch Conan, don't wanna spoil the original, you can't top it in my books & to remake Cheech & Chong and The Goonies would be pure sacrilege lol . . . You can't improve on Perfection ;)
I soooo hope Back to the future never gets remade, such a load of crap we keep getting now a days
ReplyDeleteI would actually like to see, not a remake, but a rehash of the live action Turtles movies!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, everything is a remake of everything else, it's all been done before. History has a habit of repeating itself.
ReplyDeletea new 'half baked' though and I'm going to the theater at least three times.
You can't improve on Arnold!
ReplyDeleteInteresting thoughts, mate. I haven`t actually heard anything about that band before. Funny. Where they internationally famouse?
ReplyDeleteNo not really just big in the U.K for being part of brit pop and the 90's rave counter culture.
DeleteSounds like music I would disapprove of.
ReplyDeleteclockwork orange is one of my favorite movies =^_^=
ReplyDeleteHuh, wonder why they split in the first place...
ReplyDeleteNever heard about, I'm gonna listen'm right now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mondays reunion? This could get messy.. very messy..
ReplyDeleteShaun Ryder makes me laugh so much!
ReplyDeleteClockwork Orange -- a classic (if not grotesque for its time) film that should be watched by all.
ReplyDeleteHmh never heard of them, got to check it out
ReplyDeleteeveryone knows it's Arnold and that score that make the Conan movie
ReplyDeleteAh - the token Clockwork orange screenshot - an epic movie...
ReplyDeleteThis takes me back to 1990 and a muddy Glastonbury dancing with naked hippies....good times, good times
ReplyDeleteI find some of these possible remakes revolting.
